Jun Furuta assists Meiji Holding's president in his role as executive vice president, and is responsible for leading a digital transformation spanning across all companies of the Meiji Group as chief digital officer.
Jun began his career in 1981 at Meiji Seika Kaisha, Ltd., where he gained experience in accounting, business development, investor and public relations, and management of a subsidiary in the United States. Based on this wide-ranging experience, Jun was appointed as an executive officer of Meiji Co., Ltd., in 2013. In the following year, he joined Meiji Holdings Co., Ltd., as an executive officer and head of investor and public relations, and worked to improve the Meiji Group's information disclosure. After spearheading the Group's Sustainability 2026 Vision in 2018, Jun was appointed as Meiji Holding's first chief sustainability officer in 2020. In that role, he led the Group's sustainability initiatives and initiated a long-term environmental vision, Green Engagement for 2050.
Recognizing his solid track record, Meiji Holdings appointed Jun as its chief digital officer in 2024. Since then, he has been playing a central role in the Meiji Group's digital transformation by applying his leadership ability, problem-solving skills, and broad vision rooted in a diverse career background. Jun was appointed to the new role of executive vice president in June 2025.
